The Jonas Brothers are the latest hot ticket teen sensation to roll off the Disney mass-marketing machine. This band is not your run of the mill bubble gum pop band. Jonas is unique in that they band consist of three New Jersey brothers, Kevin, Joe, and Nick Jonas all of whom actually do play their own instruments. The band has released two albums and is set to release their third in the summer of 2008.The Jonas Brothers have a large and loyal female teen fan base having guested on the Disney Channel's Hannah Montana television show. The band was also the opening act for Hannah's Best of Both World's US concert tour and also appeared in Disney's Hannah Montana 3-D concert tour movie.The Jonas Brothers were scheduled to begin filming their own Disney channel TV series J.O.N.A.S. where the brothers play part-time spies who have ordinary identities by day. The Hollywood writer's strike caused the filming to be postponed.With that postponement, the Jonas Brothers were able to schedule a Look Me in the Eyes concert tour for the spring of 2008. The brothers will be playing in concerts in smaller theatres all across the US. Although according to their official website, in the second album they released, which is the self-titled The Jonas Brothers, the band aims to classify Jonas Brothers music as pop-punk. Pop-rock or pop-punk, whatever classification it falls into, one thing is quite certain, Jonas Brothers music has come a long way from the debut album they released two years ago in August 2006.The songs in the second album are full of catchy hooks and the usual display of guitar-playing prowess. The melodies of Jonas Brothers music as heard in this second album covers a wide array of musical flexibility. They can go from upbeat dance-rock tunes to acoustic powered ballads. Jonas Brothers music can be funky one song, and laid-back the next. The second album offers a variety of musical sub-genres that classifying their music into one single box of categorization does not do justice to the flexibility of their musical expression.But that is not to say that Jonas Brothers music is without identity and character. Story has it that the brothers have focused their talents and energies so intently on this second album that they were able to finish the whole album in just twenty one days. Of course, it helped that they are brothers who certainly know each other very well and have no problems or qualms working on this particular project.With the way they have promoted the second album through the numerous tours that they have, it is no wonder that the album has already reached platinum. Fans are wanting more of Jonas Brothers music. And if the second album is just a scratch in the surface of the real amount of talent that these three brothers have, then we can be assured that a third album, or even a fourth one, will not disappoint the fans who are eager to hear their original brand of Jonas Brothers music.
